'Cloverfield' Mythos Explored: Monsters + Marketing = Millions

Cloverfield movie posterParamount's Cloverfield broke the box office record for best January opening ever, earning an estimated $46 million this holiday weekend. Not so shocking since the J.J. Abrams-produced monster flick was probably the most anticipated film to be released in a month known for its poor box office returns. Winona Ryder is Spock's Mom in 'Trek XI'

Winona Ryder has joined the cast of JJ Abrams's Star Trek XI, according to Variety.

Ryder will play Amanda Grayson, Spock's human mother in the Star Trek prequel, which hits theaters Christmas Day 2008. The young version of the half-human/half-Vulcan Spock will be played by Heroes star Zachary Quinto, while Leonard Nimoy will also appear as an older Spock, reprising his role from the classic TV show and feature films...continue reading this article at Geeks of Doom!
