If 2007 was the year of the sequel, 2008 is the year of the superhero movie. With the obvious money to be made in the genre, production companies are buying up and churning out as many big-screen adaptations as they can, some with skill and respect for the source material, some with hasty disregard for anything than can be remotely described as quality. ‘Iron Man’ Comic-Con Footage

Iron Man director Jon Favreau made an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend and unveiled the first ever shown footage from the highly anticipated film.

The footage shows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) pre-capture, then mainly in the gray "Mark 1" suit, and finally also a few clips of Stark in the red-and-gold "Mark III" Iron Man suit. There's also a final visual-effects shot of Iron Man in even more sophisticated armor, flying with F-22 fighter jets.
