Go to any movie theater or arcade and you're bound to see a rail shooter. One blue gun, one pink gun, and $1.00 per credit. They're certainly popular, and with good reason. They're fun, very easy to play, and very often look amazing. There are tons of rail shooters out there, but only a few popular series. One such group is the Time Crisis series. Though the series has never opted for blood and guts in their games, they've enjoyed a lot of success in arcades and home system ports. The latest entry, Time Crisis 4, continues that trend on the Playstation 3 with the invention of Guncon3, the newest light-gun system for home use. Overall, the game will surely score points with fans of the genre and series; and the Guncon3 has a lot of potential in future game use. The only major drawback to both is they try to do too much with the additions made to the home version...continue reading this review at Geeks of Doom!

Game Review: Buzz! The Mega Quiz (PS2)
Buzz! The Mega Quiz
Playstation 2
Available now
Party games have become all the rage since the unexpected success of the Nintendo Wii this year. Sony recently released their latest attempt in the genre with Buzz! The Mega Quiz. This latest in the popular European Buzz! series is the first to be released in North America. Buzz! is a trivia game that comes packaged with four special controllers. The controllers are designed to be used with one hand, with a big, red “Buzz!” button on top and a row of four smaller, colored buttons below it. The problem with this design is that thumbs (at least American thumbs, I can't speak to European digits) don't generally bend backwards, so you end up having to use both hands anyway in order to quickly access the colored buttons. Also, very few of the game types use the “Buzz!” button, so it's a bit perplexing that it is featured so prominently...continue reading this review at Geeks of Doom!

Game Review: Dynasty Warriors: Gundam
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam
Genre: Action Adventure
ESRB Rating: Rated T
Developer: Namco Bandei / Koei
Platforms: Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Price: $59.99; Released: August 28, 2007
It’s unfortunate that many video games based on anime that reach the U.S. are generally crap. It seems that everywhere around the world licensed games are decent at best. Fortunately, here comes a game that has the best combo of two products since peanut butter got in my chocolate, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam.
If you’ve ever played a Dynasty Warriors game before, this isn’t much different. You fight wave after wave of generic enemies whose job it is to stand around and get killed while occasionally shooting at you. Then, about two or three times a level you’ll fight a boss who actually fights you and usually beats the crap out of you if you don’t have help from other NPC’s. To call it repetitive is a bit of an understatement, but if you just want to play for a few hours and button mash, it makes for a good time...continue reading this review at Geeks of Doom!
